How to manage an outsourced newsletter
Content/copy/images for the newsletter are delivered to the designer via email, postage or courier. Proofs and amendments are delivered similarly both ways. Once approved, the final product can be emailed, saved on a stick or burnt onto a CD and delivered to the printers. Arrangements are then made for the completed product to be delivered to the customer or direct to the distribution venue.

The different kinds of newsletter
The promotional newsletter
– a marketing tool to promote a product or service sent to existing or prospective customers. It should not be a sales pitch and is generally free of charge.
The relationship newsletter
– sent to a membership of either free or subscribed members of organisations, churches, clubs, alumni or those of a shared interest.
The expert newsletter
– focuses on a specific topic and consists of information the recipient has requested and paid for via subscription.
